The grave was filled in with dirt, and the bell remained motionless.  The wind ruffled leaves in the ancient willow as lead-colored clouds descended and the mourners lingered, each apprehensive for their own reason about going into the manor house.  Still, the bell made not a sound.  Grizzly, Sandra thought.  The practice of tying a dead person's hand to a line leading up to a bell in case of an accidental premature burial.  It was something people did who carried around vampire killing cases in 16th century Europe.  Not something a ninety-four-year-old woman requests done with her mortal remains.
