"Purrsephone! How did you get here?"

Roberta sat up, in shock to see Miss Pea laying by her elbow. The little cat seemed to have an amused expression on her face and butted her face against Roberta's shoulder.

At the same time, Marared called from the back door, her voice urgent.

"Roberta, phone call for you, come quick."

Roberta grabbed her cat and held her firmly, darted toward the house.

As she climbed the porch steps, Marared, standing in the doorway, threw up her hands and laughed.

"Will you look at that! How did she get here Roberta? I thought you were leaving Miss Pea at home."

"I don't know--she must have snuck into the van. I think...she's done that before."

Marared shook her head, held out the phone towa...
