Roberta sat on the fire escape, watched an airplane fly across the moon. The sky was unusually dark that night, and quiet. There was a thump at the window as Miss Pea butted her head against the glass. Roberta pushed the window up a few inches so that Pea could slip through. The little cat curled up in her lap, purring loudly. They were waiting for Other Roberta to come by with her lists of missing cats. Roberta remembered their conversation, and she wondered if Miss Pea would speak to Other Roberta also. Granny knocked on the glass and Roberta climbed back inside. Momma and other Roberta were sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee. Roberta sat next to her, and Purrsephone curled up on her lap again.
