As Joseph continued to plead for his release, his brothers ignored him and sat down to eat lunch.  Soon the brothers heard a noise from behind them and noticed a caravan of travelers moving towards them.  It turned out that the men were Ishmaelite’s who were traveling from Gilead and were carrying spices, balm, and myrrh to sell and trade in Egypt.  Judah spoke up in a whisper to his brothers as the merchants were about to leave and said to them, “What if we sell Joseph to these merchants instead of killing him?”  After all, wouldn’t we be better off not having to cover up his murder?”  The brothers seemed to all agree and then Judah proceeded to call over one of the merchants and offered up Joseph to him for twenty shekels of silver.  The brothers then went...
