Recent days had been calm and quiet because Joseph’s brothers had gone to some fields near Shechem to graze their father’s flocks.  Joseph had stayed behind to help his father tend to some of the other animals.  Jacob started to wonder how his flocks were doing since he hadn’t seen his sons or heard from them for quite some time.  He knew that he couldn’t quite trust his sons either, especially after what they had done to his sheep in recent days.  Jacob knew that he could trust Joseph though, and asked him to bring back details of his brother’s whereabouts and see how they were doing.  Joseph obliged his father and set out at once to find his brothers.  Joseph searched all over Shechem for his brothers and couldn’t seem to find them anywhere.  When a...
