As soon as the men were finished speaking to each other, Hamor and his son Shechem went back into the city and called all of the men to the city gate for a meeting.  I listened as they announced the proposal of circumcision to the men.  They explained to the men that if they agreed to the terms which Jacob and his sons had proposed, that everyone would reap the rewards of Jacob’s wealth and then the families could intermingle and marry each other’s, daughters.  The men of the city agreed to the plan and soon every male was circumcised.  I had no idea that Jacob’s sons had a secret plan to free their sister from her plight.  It seemed they had no intention of actually letting their sister suffer at the hands of these men, and although she had been taken forcefully by the m...
