I watched as Laban led Abraham’s servant to his house. As soon as they reached the house, the camel’s packs were unloaded and they were also fed. Water was brought out for the servant and his men so that they could wash their feet. Food was offered as well, but Abraham’s servant refused to eat until he had explained to the entire family why he had come. Laban seemed pleasantly surprised by the servant’s loyal display of dedication to his purpose and allowed the servant to share his reason for coming. The family was informed that he was Abraham’s servant, who had come on behalf of Abraham, in order to find a wife for Abraham’s son Isaac.
