The waves were soothing as they rolled onto the sandy beach. It was a beautiful night with many people taking the opportunity to walk along the wooden pier after their meal. Masuda offered her his jacket as the night air had cooled and she had left hers in the car. He gently placed it over her shoulders and took her hand in his as they had left the restaurant.

“Would you like to take a walk along the pier?” she asked.

They slowly made their way up to the end and stood, silently watching the sea make it’s way back to the shore.  A lone light gave off a soft glow and Hannah spent the majority of the time pretending to look out at the water when in reality she was admiring the side profile of Masuda.
