Hannah looked up from the biology book that she was studying as Amy came into the kitchen. “Hey, how was work?”

“Some people are just so rude,” Amy sat down at the table and pulled off her shoes and undid her shiny, black hair from the high ponytail she always wore. She yanked the blue top of her chemist assistant uniform over her head, revealing a black tank top.

“What happened?”

“Just some woman who insisted that she get her things as we were closing and took forever, like I spend my life waiting to serve her.” Amy blew out her breath, letting her frustration go. “Want a cuppa?” She stood up to fill the kettle and turn it on.

“Sure, that would be great.”
