The weather was too cold to sit outside. The small garden area that Mrs Jones liked to occupy with her afternoon tea was flooded. Sydney’s weather had been unpredictable all week and while the wind had abated, the intermittent, heavy rain had not. Hannah finished making herself and Mrs Jones a cup of tea and placed them both at the four-seater round table, that was tucked into a corner, near the small selection of books that passed as a library and as far away from the loud television as possible. She watched the small, fragile woman gingerly take her seat and then moved the walker out of the way. “Would you like a blanket while I get my lunch?”

“A blanket would be most welcome.” Mrs Jones smiled.
