Chapter 8

Hannah hummed cheerfully as she pushed the food trolley down the nursing home’s corridor. She had started her new job two weeks ago and loved it. She was working in the kitchens of a small nursing home and while it didn’t take much brainpower, it took a lot of compassion. The week prior she had started a carers course, so she would be able to work within the nursing home in other capacities, but that would take three months to complete, so until then she helped prep, clean, and deliver meals. Delivering morning or afternoon tea to the people who lived there made her day and she took great delight in listening to their stories and helping with their jigsaws, puzzles, or crafts as she opened packets of biscuits and poured drinks.
