of a (most likely) broken jaw. Just one blurry eye is brave enough to open and see what’s coming next. Among the thousands of blue sparkles is a dark silhouette moving in over me. The recognizable shadow yanks me up by the throat to finish what my mouth started.

With only one working eye, all I can see are quick flashes of screaming lips or threatening extended fangs. Occasionally, a nose will come into focus, but mostly there’s just the impact of large, rage-filled spittle splattering my face.
