The Place on the Page

Locate for me the place
where two bodies
became undone, ribbons
    between
the end and the intro
of that night.

Point to the place on the page
where words draw blank
        -pause-

Separate the words from your
meaning, my means to this
end I haven't stopped imagining
since I noticed the black ink
scrawling itself out from
    beneath your shirt,
wrapping those words around the
curve of your left pinkie.

        Ask me to read the story aloud.

Tell me you've found your place,
press my finger to the page -
let me clear my throat
from...
