You talk about the calm before the storm hits,

But never mention the peace that follows

Once the chaos subsides.

You want to cry over the heartbreak,

And forget to be thankful for the broken

Pieces coming together, more beautiful than before.

You want to know why your wishes never come true,

Yet, don’t want to see all the things you have

Without even wishing for them.

Why do you focus only on the worst?

Can’t you see the ten good surrounding that one?

If you ask me, I want the storm to clear the debris.

So that my broken heart can weave itself into something magnificent.

And I can finally see what I have been ungratefully ignoring.
