Saying a lot doesn’t mean you’ll be heard,

Sometimes, people hear you without listening to a word.

Loving someone doesn’t mean they’ll love you back,

Oftentimes, things aren’t white or black.

Trying your best won’t always bring your desired result,

To understand this is just part of being an adult.

You can talk about your feelings and bare your soul,

Ultimately, what others understand is out of your control.

There'll be a part of your pain that'll stay unheard;

The agony can’t possibly be put into words.

Not because it’s difficult to articulate, it’s not,

Rather it’s the pain no one other than you have got.
