That darkness at the back of my head,

With an allure impossible to ignore,

Beckons me, ask me to take another step,

Toward nothingness, down to my end.

Because no matter how much I tell myself,

My heart knows, there’s no way, I’m not loved.

I can’t outrun the demon that’s inside my mind,

Then why should I keep up with the pretense,

What’s the point of continuing this charade?

Not all broken, battered things can I mend.
