don’t trust me

I’m too mercurial a beast

never hand me anything delicate

      it could be porcelain or a heart

     (my own or someone else’s)

ambivalence is my natural state

     I am the in-between

          the imbalanced balance

          in the throes of eternal transformation

          with no allegiance to peace or blood-thirst
