peanut butter toast, again

mild panic at 8 am

     sit at the desk in your cage

          what is looking in at you

          through the glass walls of your display case?

      your keepers made it look just like a home

      (lucky you)

           they give you more-than-plenty to eat

           maybe they think you look plump and healthy

too bad they don't know

you'd tear out God's throat to escape

as your burdened heart beats close to explosion
