this jalopy body

has hit high mileage

     never seems to pass inspection

          overdue for scheduled maintenance

I wouldn’t quite call it a lemon

just more of a Corolla than a Cadillac

the features designed for function, not style

     my options package was the definition of trim

          though the chassis definitely isn’t

but it gets me where I need to go

even if the destination isn’t the one I want
