goggles at him. That man just scared the crap out of her and the fact that Ben can poke fun at him that way is the most amazing thing she’s ever seen anyone do.

“It’s okay. He only has hearing in one ear. I’ll get my bike. Wait here, okay?” Ben smiles at her before shutting the door and leaving her alone on the porch again.

Bennett is waiting by her own bike when he wheels around from the back of the house. He doesn’t say anything, just swings one leg over his bike and pedals out of the driveway. Bennett hustles to catch up.
