She lost track of time.

She worked furiously. Stopping only to make herself a tuna sandwich and pee twice.

She’d left the empty tuna can on the floor as a peace offering.

When she’s banished the last cobweb and fluffed the last of her new pillows she looks at the cat on the wall.

Shit.

5:15!

Bennett heads into the bathroom already peeling off her sticky t-shirt. 

I can totally shower in 15 and change minutes.

No problem. 

Bennett can smell herself, and this is the thought in her mind as she cranks the handle marked HOT and watches a bare trickle of brownish red water leak out.
