Bennett sits in the strange car with the strange woman and looks out at the strange house.

The strange woman sits for a moment finishing her cigarette. She hadn’t said much on the drive and that was okay with Bennett. There was everything and nothing to say and the confusion of sorting that out had made Bennett’s head hurt.

Well, that and the constant stream of cigarette smoke from the strange woman in the strange suit.

Bennett studies the house outside her window. It is small and sort of crooked looking. There's a porch, with a porch swing, but Bennett is pretty sure if she tries to practice her baton on that porch and accidentally drops it, it would roll right off the edge. That’s how crooked the porch is.
