Bennett settles back in her seat and drops down her tray table. She’d pre-ordered a Bloody Mary from the first attendant she’d seen as she juggled her one bag into the overhead compartment. When you flew as much as Bennett did you learned a few things.
First- no checked luggage. Because it just feels good to breeze past all the suckers hopefully watching a million black bags go sailing by and land on the curb before anyone else. Plus, no chance of your stuff ending up across the country without you.
Second - get your alcohol early. It’s important to have a good buzz going when the plane lifts off. It’s much more difficult to get lost in the whole fiery ball of flames thought tangents that way.
