    Ryan put a log, on the fire, as Christine admired her new dress material, and thought about how her dress would look when it was done.  The fire popped loudly, as the wet wood, from outside in the snow, surrendered to the orange, red, and yellow flames.  Elizabeth had finally finished her pie, and put her plate and fork, in the washtub.  Pa asked her to refill his coffee cup, and she did.  Christine had jumped a little, in her rocking chair, from the pop, in the fire, startled, and almost spilled her coffee. ...
