“My doctoring will be over.”

     “Adam, you don’t know that.”

     “Covering up, and hiding a diagnosis, and death?  How will these people think they can ever trust me again?”

     “It wasn’t contagious.”

     “How do we know that!” he yelled, revealing his tear streaked face.

     “Because, in all these years, we’ve not had another case.  And in treating him, you never got it,” Dessie informed him, taking his hands back in hers.  “The town needs to know.”

     “All right,” Adam gave in, reluctantly though.
