he’s already been out working in the field.  A few biscuits were missing and she knew he had taken them into the field with him to hold him over until the rest of breakfast was ready.

     “Well, well, well.  If it isn’t the engaged young lady of the house,” Ryan smiled.

     “Dethie,” Amber called, and she kicked her feet in excitement, from her highchair and Dessie gave her a kiss.

     “So, how do you feel the morning after,” Ryan teased.

     “Oh, Pa,” Dessie said shyly, blushing.  Then, she smiled right at her pa and danced across the floor.  “I feel, so, so, happy.”
