remove the bullets in enough time and stitch him up before he lost too much blood.  Adam cut him open a little bigger than the bullet holes and he first went in search of the bullet in the belly.  This was the killer, the bleeder, the other wound not as grave.  Dessie monitored the ether, as Adam dug into the tender stomach muscles, in search of a bullet fragment, or whole one, that kept eluding him. 

     “Adam, his breathing is so shallow,” Dessie informed him.  “Can’t you find it?”
