Ryan dropped the subject, but thoughts still rolled around in his head.  He only halfway trusted this handsome, young doctor and was extremely protective of his Dessie, of his little girl.

     “She wants to become a nurse, Ryan, and so we’d better get used to this kind of schedule.  Besides, you’re the one who said a little while ago that one day is not the same as the day before and things are always unpredictable.”

     “I suppose,” Ryan answered only half heartedly.
