“There’s nothing to tell. We delivered Mary’s baby, stayed a little while, to make sure they were fine, with no problems, then he drove me home. Nothing more to tell,” Dessie explained to them. “I have a big spelling test tomorrow.”
She kissed both her ma and pa and gave them a reassuring look, as she glanced back at them, while she went up the stairs.
