CHANNILLO
On the Side of the Angels
By Kathleen Marple Kalb

Series Description:

She’s an assassin from an ancient order and a nice suburban mom…and if she can’t stop the copycats, everyone's in big trouble.

On the Side of the Angels follows librarian Grace Adair as she poisons one vile and infamous sexual predator, says her prayers, and goes on with her ordinary life, only to have the client come back with a list of others. But Grace and her sisters are assassins, not serial killers, and they refuse. When the men start dropping dead, the assasins must act – or risk the exposure of seven hundred years of quietly successful poisoning. If that’s not enough drama, Grace is running the PTA Book Fair, her mentor is dating again, and her apparently clueless lawyer husband is in the middle of a death-penalty trial. With Grace’s wry take on suburbia, a diverse and relatable cast, plenty of unexpected turns -- and not an actual angel in sight, this is a fun ride for anyone who ever wished she had a secret life...or wondered if the neighbors do.

Author Bio For Kathleen Marple Kalb:

Kathleen Marple Kalb grew up in front of a microphone, and a keyboard. Now a weekend morning anchor at 1010 WINS New York, she started as a teenage DJ in Brookville, Pennsylvania. She worked her way up through newsrooms in Pittsburgh, Vermont and Connecticut, developing her skills and a deep and abiding distaste for snowstorms. While she wrote her first (thankfully unpublished!) historical novel at age sixteen, fiction was firmly in the past until her son started kindergarten and she tried again.

Her conventional-publishing debut, A FATAL FINALE (Kensington 4/20), the first in the Ella Shane historical mystery series, features the misadventures of a Gilded Age diva who's both a perfect lady and a crackerjack swordsman. The sequel, A FATAL FIRST NIGHT, is due in April 2021.

ON THE SIDE OF THE ANGELS is her guilty pleasure project, growing out of her experience as a suburban mom and the general craziness of 2020 life.

Kathleen, her husband the Professor, and their son the Imp, live in a Connecticut house owned by their cat.

Acknowledgements:

Many, many thanks as always to my families of blood, work and affection for all of their support. A special shout-out to my colleague Brian Britain for letting me "borrow" his name. And -- to my mother, who always wanted to see Grace turned loose on the world: this one's for you!
