Cascade
 

A waterfall cannot be silenced;

if it runs dry, it simply ceases to exist.

If it flows, it is alive, noisy,

shaping sediment and rock

as the water pours out.

Propelled by gravity over the edge,

carving oases in hidden crevasses

behind cascading liquid,

romantic rendezvous for racing hearts,

thrilled to be near something

unstoppable, raw, powerful.

Humans hungrily desire a reality where our souls

are free to pour out our insides like pitchers,

without insecurity.

Thoughts and words rushing out

in poetic expressions of beauty and pain.

To be free like water semi-constrained

between the banks of a streambed -  

a loose framework to maintain

structure yet given l...
