The Deep Forest

There is another world inside this one,

a place where stillness and solitude

are the currencies of trade –

the deep forest,

where colors have hues

that reveal age and texture,

where time moves at slower pace,

like stepping into the wardrobe

leading to Narnia.

In this world, the sounds

of the wild reverberate

through the landscape,

making it impossible to

pinpoint their origins,

a sharp contrast to the tranquility

that blankets the area

like dew on the bay.

Falling limbs, leaves beneath the feet

of woodland creatures,

distant woodpeckers and haunting owls

punctuating the airways.
