My Secondary School brought new levels of meaning to the word ‘enormous’. The structure of the building, for a start, was colossal - five floors on one side, six on the back, with four additional wings of the same height branching off each corner. Externally, there was a separate drama theatre, and five individual gym blocks, with attendant pitches, courts and playing fields. There were also separate huts for Design And Technology - or CDT, as it was once called. The Science block, the Humanities block, Languages, Art - each subject area had its own, distinctive domain.
