Last week we took a family road trip. We didn’t venture across the country like Clark Griswold did on his quest to Wally World. We took the kids through the upper peninsula of Michigan and then down through Green Bay, Wisconsin where we eventually ended up at a Three Bears Resort with my husband’s family. That’s still a lot of togetherness.

My children are awesome travelers. Having family six hours away has assured they know how to ride in an automobile for long periods of time. They have steel bladders and can survive on CheezIts and gum during those trips where lake effect snow has us crawling like turtles. We know if they are asking for a bathroom, their teeth are floating and we need to find one pronto. They’ve built up travel stamina and I don’t worry about any car meltdown...
