Giving Thanks

I try to give thanks every day, not just on Thanksgiving.
Some days it may be as simple as a Starbucks coffee. Most days, it’s about my family. How could I not be thankful for the best things that have ever happened to me?
I find as life moves at warp speed, I’m finding the need to slow down and smell the roses. I want to hug the kids a little longer at bedtime. I want to hear about my husband’s day. I don’t want to just exist and go through the motions of everyday life.
In my thirties, I was constantly pregnant or nursing. The days blurred together and I eagerly anticipated the kids growing out of the baby phase. I was looking forward to the next big event, while still enjoying the current event. I was never “in the moment”, always looking ahead.
