If you have kids in sports, you're probably going to feel me on this one. Or maybe you'll tell me to quit whining.  Either way, I'm going to get something off my chest.

My son plays soccer. He's 9 and one of the youngest on the team.  He's not a superstar, his teammates are not superstars, but he enjoys being part of a team and looks forward to games and practices.  

Because I'm his mom and I love the crap out of him, I buy his equipment, sign his permission forms, pack $400 worth of snacks, wash his sweaty clothes and drive him to games. Sometimes the games are two hours away, but we persevere. The ride there is much better than the ride back. Soccer players smell.
