In dreams you see for a moment
What your heart is thinking about
All of the things that usually stay in
Fly awfully or wonderfully out

Each feeling you feel, only bigger
Ambition, despair, hope, or anxiety
Love, betrayal, nostalgia sweet
Feelings of every variety.

Young or old, it doesn't matter
Dreams rise from your subconscious' pool
But why, at the learned age of fourty and four
Am I still dreaming the first day of school?!
