When you wore your beautiful coat

That your father so kindly gave

Did you know the depth of feelings

That were soon to be on their way?

Now, I know you had a prophetic dream

That told of events to come

But did you have any inclination

Of the deep pain you would succumb?

To fall to the depths

To rise to a new height

And fall again, and rise again

Surely tested your inner might

The many setbacks and accusations

Unfair treatment and shame

Even though you knew in the end

God would bring glory to your name

Your life’s story shows God’s favor

And that His promises are true
