Did I mention my Dragon-in-Law likes to pull surprise inspection visits?

She arrived this morning. Cal, much to her annoyance, had already left for work. I think she forgets Saturdays are work days for his team. Criminals do not adhere to office hours.

Hannah was delighted to see her. She knows her grandmother never visits without a pocketful of chocolate bars to bribe my children. If I fed them a slice of cake in front of her she would tut-tut about the childhood obesity crisis but it’s perfectly fine for her to ruin their teeth, that’s called being a good grandmother. She always tucks some cash into their hands when she’s leaving too.
