I’m so glad this month is nearly over. The days are so short. I only see daylight at lunchtime, particularly on grey, overcast days like today.

Cal’s worse. He reckons he’s deficient in vitamin D because he never sees daylight. He’s up to his neck in overtime on a drugs crackdown and is saving the extra pay towards the course he wants to do this year.

I offered to share profits from The Sewing Mama but he insisted that’s my money to grow the business.

My father had other ideas about how I could spend it.
