“Here’s the upside to that,” Christian Moynahan said from the doorway. “If they’re focused on NOSPN, then they aren’t paying attention to our vampire.”

“True,” Rodgers allowed, “but I’ll feel better about it once the journalists get clear of there.”

“Good point,” Christian said. “Meanwhile, I have good news about the election.”

“You’ve been successful in fixing it?” Rodgers asked, with not a small amount of judgment.

“Yes,” Moynahan answered brightly, either ignoring Rodgers’ tone or playing right into it. “Our candidates are all in place. We won’t need to worry about Reynardo or anyone else running afoul of the law.”
