In retrospect, Isabella decided her life had become much more exciting after signing on with New Orleans Supernatural Weekly. She’d had her doubts, the job being non-paying and all. But the breadth of experiences was simply jaw-dropping. And, of course, as assistant editor and lead journalist, she was getting paid now.

She was sitting in a car parked on Poydras Street, in the shadows of skyscrapers unrelieved by the moon’s light. Brig Yorker was inside, following the trail NOSPN’s researchers had picked up. There was a decent possibility that there was a vampire in the building.
