clicked in Jamison's mind, and he reached for the door to the interrogation room just as the door to the observation room opened and Samuel burst in.

"They found her phone," Samuel breathed.

"Okay," Jamison said. "Thanks, and what part of 'you're off the case' was unclear to you?"

"It's a dead end," Samuel said, catching his breath. "The phone's last known location was her house. They found the phone under her porch."

"But didn't find her?" Jamison asked.

Samuel shook his head.

"I guess that's good," Jamison said. "Wait a minute."

He opened the door and gestured at Morrison. She stepped out of the room as Sweeney arrived with a small, dark-skinned woman. The amount of people trying...
