Then she spent a bit of time on homework and studying.

The television buzzed to life, briefly filling the room with white noise before landing on a weather report. "Turn that down a little, Quinn," Isabella said without looking up from her textbooks. The TV quieted a bit.

Quinn, her roommate, was not present.

"We're looking at some decent weather going into Valentine's Day,"  the newscaster said, "but after that, we'll have quite a rocky weekend. Dave, tell us about it."

"Well, Sal, the next few days will be clear and warm, perfect Valentine's weather. But looking after that, there's a huge help storm front moving in. We might well see several inches of rain on the ground by Friday night."
