A movement to her left stirred Sayeva from her thoughts. She gave Samuel a faint smile as he blinked at her. "Welcome back. How are you feeling?"

He looked at her, a bit dazed.

"Can you feel everything? No numbness?" Sayeva asked.

He wiggled his fingers and toes, frowned, and then said in a bit of a confused slur, "There's a catheter where there shouldn't be a catheter."

"They were worried about your fluids. I'll call a doctor." Sayeva stepped out and stopped the first nurse she saw. Once the staff were assured that Samuel was fine, they allowed Sayeva to re-enter.

"I called Jamie. He should be here in a bit." Sayeva settled into the same chair.

Samuel asked, "What happened, Sayeva?"
