The weekend approached among all the usual festivities that marked Halloween in New Orleans. While the holiday itself fell on the next Monday, the concerts, football games, and homecoming events combined with a typical weekend in the city all created a busy, lively atmosphere.

There were people walking around in costume - tourists and residents alike. Halloween brought out a side of the city that rested dormant for most of the year, producing things that were strange even for New Orleans. This year, at the head of New Orleans Supernatural Weekly, Sayeva was particularly aware of it all.
