Ghosts really could go bump in the night.
There were many different sorts of them, Jamison had learned. Some could speak; some could not. Some could move things. Some had more or fewer weaknesses. They all had an aversion to salt.
He could have outlined his room or his entire house with salt, Jamison supposed, but the thought of doing so made him feel guilty. The ghosts never harmed him. They only wanted his help. News of his success with Rhiannon had spread among them, so they sought him out.
He had barely slept since the night of the ghost hunt.
New Orleans had more than its fair share of ghosts, given its proximity to the afterlife - there was a gateway somewhere in the city that allowed passage among some of the limbo-lik...
