all hands were linked, she began, "Spirits of this house, um, we are gathered here today--no, wait."

"This must be the worst séance ever," Paul muttered.

Isabella glared at him. "Spirits of this house, we welcome you and invite you to speak with us tonight."

The ghost turned around and looked at the group but did not leave her seat.

"Spirits, can you hear us?" Isabella asked.

A man's voice sounded, coming clear even over the speakerphone. He spoke in crisp, lyrical, unfamiliar syllables. "Wait! We found another ghost!" Jamison exclaimed, feigning excitement.

Isabella ignored him. "Spirit, sir, can you tell us how we can help you?"

The "spirit" responded in Irish. "He's saying he's looking for...
