Urban Nature Spirits appear all over the world. In this chapter, I will introduce a few of the cultures involved. It is impossible to isolate them entirely because traditions mingle as culture is diffused and folklore develops.

A unique cult exists in Brazil. It is based on spirit possession, and the followers are mostly Afro-Brazilians. The original gods were brought from Africa and adapted completely to Brazilian life as they became Urban Nature Spirits.
