Ghouls (All Arab Countries)
The word Ghoul in Arabic means “Demon.” The ghouls usually live in graveyards and feed on corpses. The ghouls may also reside in deserts, and there, too, they consume human flesh and drink blood. All ghouls are shape-shifters and may assume the forms of animals. In their desert-dwelling type, they favor the shape of the hyena.
Glashan (Isle of Man) and Shopiltees (Shetland)
These two spirits, who always show themselves as miniature water horses, are almost identical even though they live in different parts of the country. Both types live in deep lakes. The Glashan resembles a small foal (sometimes a lamb), and the Shopiltee appears as a Shetland pony. However, these are disguises, and no one knows their actual shape....
